Not sure of their ability to win the election on their own merits, the Liberals have started to offer bribes to opponents to drop out of the race.

This is insane. This is not how democracy is supposed to operate... and sadly, this is just another thing in a long list for the Liberals. Offering opposition members cabinet posts, diplomatic appointments, and offering friends senate or judicial seats... Man.

A few days ago I took my scrutineer training. We learned about things to watch for in the voting process that might indicate voter fraud or other problems, but we were told these problems were not at all common. I also learned that if you are a scrutineer for the first shift and get there early enough, you can watch them seal the ballot boxes (to ensure they are empty). When I found that out, I was almost overcome with pride for our democracy. So many people all over the world don't have the incredible gift we do; to choose our representatives, free from fear, intimidation, or doubt in the process. We are so, so lucky to live in a nation such as this.

To see the Liberals continually trying to subvert our democratic process truly saddens me. When will they learn that there are more important things in life than an iron grip on power?
