Well, I've been having a bit of fun lately. So much fun, that I haven't updated my blog in a good long while. I think I'll get back into it now though - going to try to update at least once a week and all that. Yeah, we'll see how long last lasts.
Matt and I have been venturing out of the house and into the area surrounding Victoria more often on the weekends and I'm having a great time. I've uploaded some pictures from Clover Point into my online album, and I should have a few more from Thetis Lake up sometime "soon" (we all know how "soon" works with me!) Clover Point was a blast - I got to put to use all that marine biology I learnt at Bamfield Marine Station in first year of university. Matt's sister and her daughter are hopefully coming out to Victoria sometime soon and I can't wait to take Katie to the beach and show her all the different types of animals that live in the tidal pools.
Actually, there is a lot of things I want to do when they get here. I don't think Katalin's ever been to the ocean before, so I want to take her to the beach and the little aquarium in the inner harbour where they have a touch pool and she can hold a starfish and take her to the west coast and show her all that water that just goes on and on forever. I want to take her to the Crystal Gardens and show her the monkeys and take her to the magic shows that the buskers put on downtown. I want to take her on one of the little boats that take tourists around the harbour, and take her to my favorite tea house to eat little sandwiches.. I really, really can't wait till they get here.
I love seeing family; but we're just too darn broke right now to get anywhere. So I am just loving when we get visitors.
Today we're going out for dinner with Matt's Nannie, Great-Aunt Marjorie, Aunt Irene and Aunt Bonnie. Bonnie's not actually his aunt but they're related in some way and we'll just stick with aunt for now. I don't get to show off Victoria to them as they likely know it better than I do at this point, and they have a lot of people to visit and we're pretty busy with school besides. But it will be nice to see some people from home tonight.
