First, some mood music. Got that going? Good.
GO FLAMES GO!
I guess I really should've blogged this Monday night or Tuesday morning, but for once, I was actually working!
Anyway, this entry is NOT about work. This entry is about how much I love the Flames right now and how weird it is living in (more or less) "enemy territory". I think our neighbours know who we're rooting for now given the timing of the cheering coming from our apartment. Some of the people in my office made a sympathy card for one of my co-workers yesterday morning, writing messages like "There's always next year" and "It's not the end of the world". (For anyone curious, mine said "You can always cheer for the other Canadian teams!")
I wanted to get a Flames T-shirt or jersey, but I would've felt pretty weird wearing it in public here, where Vancouver is considered the "home team" and there are tons of people with Vancouver flags on their cars, signs on their lawns, and wearing Canucks jerseys. Do I feel safe from taunts even now? Now that the Flames have beaten Vancouver (on a sweet, sweet overtime goal by Gelinas)? Nope. I will by the next game on Thursday though.
Go kick some Red Wing ass, Flames!
